Hey guys first post on here hopefully somebody knows where to start I removed an old school alarm system from under the dash and the Turbo timer because the wiring harness underneath the dash was a rat nest and it fell in front of the pedals and caused an accident a few years ago cars now rebuilt in the body and now after removing the wires it cranks doesn't fire just cranks then if I turn it off and instantly try to start it it tries to fire and will sometimes run for about 1 second then shuts off smells like fuel

There is also this wire i found I unhooked the other side of the connector had a wire on it with a bare-end looks like it had just got ripped out of a plug don't know if that could be the cause it almost seems like a timing or firing issue the wire is black with a white stripe

Hey boss,

I believe that wire connects to the side of the intake manifold on the drivers side. I'm not sure what it does but it shouldn't cause any misfiring or timing issues. let me check another thread they have a breakdown of all the electrical connectors and plugs

I just read your original post up top.

I would check all the wiring to the Crankshaft position sensor and the coils to ensure they are getting spark. Just have a spare spark plug disconnect one of the wires and ground the threads. Cylinders 1/4 and 2/3 both have separate coils so test one spark plug wire from both that will narrow down your issue.

There are two plugs on the driver side (right of the intake manifold) that are identical ensure you didn't swap them by accident your CPS will not tell your spark plugs to fire if you did. One of the plugs has two blue wires and different colored stripes and the other has a red white and black wire going to it. They are roughly the same length.

The wire you posted is the:

20. Capacitor (Noise Condenser) and can be found in the thread below.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response but the Reason I removed the connector is cause the wire was exposed and looked like it was pulled from a plug or splice, while I was moving stuff around to find out where it came from it touched the valve cover bolts and sparked so it was hot? I can't find the wire/plug anywhere on the web yet?

I did find that black with white stripe wire on that plug and I opened up the wiring harness still haven't found where that wire connects but I'm sure it does Connect into there somehow I will check for spark here in a few hours and report back thank you very much for your help also I noticed he crankshaft position sensor was inside the timing belt not on the outside hopefully it didn't get caught in the pullys or something I will need to pull the timing belt cover to get access to that sensor is it best to remove the motor mount and lower the engine or can you get this cover off without doing that of course I'll have to remove the pulley but💁‍♂️

So the sensor is behind the timing belt. the connector/plug is not.

20. Capacitor (Noise Condenser) is what your picture is. It plugs in on the corner of the intake manifold on the firewall/driver side corner.
