on my friends non turbo ( :barf: ) 95 talon there is a loud " scraping / grinding " noise coming from the flywheel area. When the car is just idleing it gets really loud and sometimes it's sound like it's trying to grab and the whole engine and trans will rock back and forth once. Then it will quiet down until it happens again. When the car is in neutral once you push the clutch the car almost wants to die. It's VERY hard to get it into gears, both with and without pressing the clutch. It's not grinding when you try and shift it ... it either hits the gate and won't go in, or it will go in no problem. What could this be??

sounds like the tranny is shot..

is it a stock clutch/flywheel?

unless you know transmissions and other hardcore engine components like that, you should probably take it to someone who specializes in it.
