Could this be fixed with a FCD or Missing Link?

So last night I just finished up my 420a turbo setup and was giving it a quick test drive (no downpipe mind you, but I rigged up a deflector :p) and it was running surprisingly well for the first time. It would start to build boost and could hit the 7-8psi mark like its supposed to. Then I gave it a little more in first and experienced what I'm pretty sure is fuel cut. It just stopped at about 4k rpm and felt like I hit the rev limiter so I let off and continued driving. After that, it won't boost at all. I can hear the turbo spool and everything. I did a quick boost leak check and didn't see anything, but it's dark and I can look more tomorrow.

But is this something that could happen without a FCD or Missing Link? Like it was boosting fine then once the map sensor recognized it it won't let it reach that again?

I'm running a 12:1 Vortech FMU, Walbro 255, injectors are stock. Thanks for any help!

Yes, you need an FCD/Missing Link, take your pick either one works fine :thumb:

actually, typically all 95's don't need an fcd/missing link. If the car wouldn't build boost again, I'd bet you have a rather large boost leak, something like a torn or blown off coupler.

Okie doke, I'll check it out later today...Thanks!

Actually I was just thinking...even if a coupler blew off I wouldn't just hit a sudden loss of acceleration like that :S. I actually hit 4k then it just decelerated altogether.

Okay okay, cs you were right...it was a blown off coupler. I guess this brings me to my next question...

Are you sure I don't need an FCD or Missing Link with a 95?

Typically, 95's don't cut fuel in the presence of boost.

If after you repair the blown off ICPs you are still experiencing this issue, consider borrowing (if you're able to) a ML/FCD to see if it resolves your problem. If you can not borrow, they are cheap enough you can buy one without having to sacrifice a months mortgage payment.

Ha ha, awesome...thanks a lot. So far no problems at 7psi with fuel cut. Just need to replace some of my hose clamps with t-bolt clamps :p
