Holy shit my turbo manifold is running so hot!!!! It has melted my stock radiator fan infront of it, and ruined the fans motor in the process. It is now so hot that it is cracking my paint on the hood :( . Anyways i was wondering where i could get an after market slim metal fan? and any other ideas, like a heatshield mabey. (***NOTE*** i dont have a stock manifold obviusly and ofcourse the stock wouldnt be able to fit.) Any "how toos" on how to make a manifold heatshield mabey to cover it? also i was looking through the forums last week when i saw a cool custom fiberglass intake for the bumper, i thought mabey i could make suming like that for the other side just to push cooler air in the area? And finaly the hood... it has no heat shield on it (came with the car like that) but now that the paint is cracked it bother the hell out of me... i was thinking a carbon hood? but was thinking i would probely melt it, but despite the fact that i like the oem style alot more mabey i could get something to better direct air flow? That or i could midly modify my hood now to get sum better air flow for the turbo/ manifold to cool down?

May want to swich to a pusher style fan and mount on the other side of the Radiator or get a single large slim fan on the passanger side (what I did).

Could always get the manifold coated with that High Temp Ceramic coating. Should also aid in spool by keeping the heat inside the manifold :dsm:

Ceramic coat and heat wrap your manifold. That will solve all your problems. Melting that fan isn't the only problem, there's also the issue of way way hot underhood temps its causing.

Only problem is (I believe) the Pacesetter manifold is mild steel which if header wrapped will not last very long (wrap will wick/trap moisture) :dsm:

the wraps can cause cracks from moisture...

i took my heat shields havent caused me any probs... but i still have sheild on my hood.

have you invested in a FMIC? take your weather strips off your hood and the top of your firewall that will allow more air out.. if you WANT i did it.. i put 2 washers on each hindge of the hood ot prop it up a hair.. that gave me even more air flow out the back of the hood. man this is all freemod shit here. besides the FMIC .. you might be having some other probs causing you to run to hott.

i took my heat shield off my 2g and it didnt crack my paint but it sure did get my hood HOT rigth around the turbo/manifold... i say dont get a CF hood. you might melt or warp it.. ### your alrdy crackin your paint on the metal hood... how do you think fiberglass or CF is gunna hold up to it!

My bad, I didn't see that its a pacesetter. In that case it will be cracked and dead in a short time anyway. So why not just wrap it or at least ceramic coat it in the mean time?

I have an SFP tubular manifold and i ended up wrapping that and also put on Dei's high temp paint to keep it from holding moisture. Along with that i did the greyforest hood mod, to keep my under hood temps down.
