So I'm on my way to the D.r this morning and next thing I know is there's tons of smoke behind my car. I pull over because the car quickly became hot. I get out and there's antifreeze everywhere on the backside and the thermostat housing was dry Idk how this could happen when I just filled my and temp housing 10 minutes before?

most major auto parts stores have a cheap presure test kit let it cool down fill it and test the leak should be very noticable by what you have described ... or see if a local person has one you can barrow and good luck

It could be many things, but I would check all your coolant hoses. I have had 2 bust on me....old cars. Depending on the severity of the rip, it could drain a car in minutes. Better than jumping the gun and saying its a blown head gasket.

Thanks guys ima definitely check the back hoses. How much of a possibility is it that it's a head gasket because it still had same power it always had?

Your posting in the 420A section, is this on a 420A or the TSi you have in your profile?

Either way check your heater core hoses, i doubt the HG would fail in a way to spray coolant into the engine bay, but after overheating it is possible that you damaged it depending on how long you drove on it. It's 99% probably a coolant hose in my opinion.

420a my tsi was totaled haven't updated my profile yet. Thanks though bout to go check it out and I'll check back.

Don't forget to check the small hose that's about 3" long that runs across the top of the manifold. It's directly over the #1 runner of the exhaust manifold.

Fill her back up and start it up like normal.Let it get to operating temperature. You might have to jack up the front of the car but check at the bottom of plastic timing belt cover.Could of been coming out there and burning on your exaust.Maybe time for a water pump.
