Coolant lines Swelling up

Car hasnt been running in over a year. Would do a start up every month or so. Lately I have been getting it ready to retune, so I have been driving it more.

First incident, water feed line to the turbo swelled up and burst causing me to spill coolant all over the driveway. I replaced that hose.

I started the car and let it run for about 20-30 mins just in idle. Now the Radiator hose started to swell up too. On the engine side.

What is causing this swell, and how do I fix it? (By swelling up, I mean that on one end of the tube, it looks like a snake just ate a rat or something and its a lump)

Theres obviously a clog somewhere in your coolant system. I had a buddy that clogged up his radiator before.

Keep in mind that the coolant system does get pressurized at running temperature, and that coolant hoses get old (and swell) and can burst without warning if they get too weak.

Probably just a matter of old rubber hoses. Time for some maintenance.

my top one swelled too...replaced it and its fine now. the nylon strings in the hose break leaving only the rubber holding the hot pressured coolant so replace them as soon as you can.

Good start. Now, replace all the rest of them. They're all in that kind of shape.
