Anyone have a diagram of the entire coolant system? Including all hose locations? And what is this nipple supposed to be attached to? its on the drivers side of the bottom of the radiator, facing motor.

If your Car is Manual, that nipple is no use for you.
That nipple is used with Automatic transmissions. The transmission fluid is cooled down by the radiator on automatic vehicles.

WOW! Yea, I'm an auto. that nipple it for the trans right? Where else could it be hooked up to if its not on the radiator?

And also, I'm kind of in need of a coolant diagram mainly for the drivers side of back of motor facing the windshield. There's something leaking there or I have a blown head gasket

1g auto's use the radiator for cooling? I thought they all used an external cooler for the auto trans...

That leak may be from your Heater core hoses.

Ok, yea it uses another cooler on my car not the radiator...And by bigger problem, you're meaning head gasket? Cause that's where I'm seeing steam from when it over heats

Please don't let it overheat. Double check if any of your coolant lines are leaking.
To make sure it is your head gasket do a compression test.

Places to leak coolant on the driver side are the water pump (gasket, o-ring, or failed pump), head gasket, leaking freeze plugs, or holes in the head or block. Here's a coolant diagram with everything in the engine bay except the second heater hose which connects to the backside of the thermostat housing and the turbo coolant return line (to the main water pipe).

Is there supposed to be a nipple threaded into the back of the tstat housing? I was trying to figure out where mine goes and that looks plausible but there is a plug screwed into the bottom hole on the back. Gotta love the joys of buying a disassembled dsm and never messing with them before, then trying to figure out where everything goes LOL.

It's actually 3/8" BSPT. The part number is MD020631 if you want or need a new one. Here's a pic to expand on Brian's/snowborder714's post above.

does anyone have a part number or even just the correct name of the O-Ring in the diagram above (#45)? I just got a "FELPRO COOLANT OUTLET O-RING" and it looks like it's too big to be the o-ring that goes in there. I havent taken it apart yet but I wanted to right part first so I dont have to leave it apart for a couple of days. Thanks
