Converting my n/t dsm into a fast turbo car!!!

Hello everyone! I need ask a very important question about transforming my 420A into one mean turbo dsm.
I went to my local tuner shop to price a turbo set up for my car, but I already knew I wanted it from hahnracecraft. The guys at the shop told me not to waist my money or time on that project and just buy a DSM that has a turbo already.
So my question is what should I do? And if any knows of someone that done this before, what kind of problems did he or she have after the installation.

The 420A has fairly high compression, adding a turbo to it is pretty much a bad idea. Now if you tear it down and have it rebuilt with lower compression then it should be ok, but that's not really worth it in my opinion. You might as well stick with the n/a DSM unless you want to sell it and then buy one that's already turbocharged.

If you do a search, i thnk there is a handful of n/t guys who have done it. But I think most are in aggreement that if you want turbo, sell the n/t and get a turbo.
 
Sell it and buy a turbo DSM. IMO I wouldn't use my money turboing a 420a motor.
 
c/mon guys, i wanna do the same thing, the one on their site has like 450whp, thats not to shaby, plus the reason why I want to do it, is becasue of all the places i go i never see a turbo 420a, it'll make it.....unique
 
im 17 and my insurance is damn 160 a month WTF!!!!!, taking money awayfrom the turbo kit fund!!!! :mad:
 
i had turbo'ed my old old old GS(pics in profile)show car and the tranny lasted about 2 weeks. then i took it off and went to just n2o and was happy but i got rid of the car due to problems with it and i didnt want to spend much money to fix it....so i traded and got money for another 1g....bought 2gAWD and never looked back.....

the people who bought the car had it running for 1 week before the motor went....they ripped the engine apart and i had 3 bent rods and severe scoring of the cylinder walls....

buy a turbo model/convert yours to 4g63t or just spray it to death it will be cheaper
 
First, It helps to give the mileage of your car when asking a question like that......if it's over 100k, then you're gonna need to rebuild first and foremost, IMO of course.

But if you've got less than or around 50k on the ODO it'll be ok, the stock 420A can hold a stage1 or stage2 from hahn just fine, but if you get by the turbo bug too hard, then once again, there is a rebuild in your future.

Either way you're gonna be spending lots of money to hit a good high HP, but with the stock turbo DSM you'll get there alot faster.

Basically it comes down to what you want and what you think yo ucan do...my car was turboed, but I removed it and sold part of it to pay off the car when I was 18(i'm 20 now) and in the process of building up a new motor w/ turbo to put into it. My car is FAR from perfect either..I bought it as a salvage and having to fix an assload of problems that the shop that fixed it first didnt do right at all..but I love my car, it was my first, I've had it a lil over 4 years, and well, to try and sell it would be too hard on me, so I'm working on it, and in the process of buying a new vehicle to drive daily.
