Hey guys, I own a 1994 Talon and I'm not too crazy for how she looks in the front, however, I do like the look of the '91 front end with the pop up headlights. I would think the chassis is the same, but I would like to know what you guys think on this conversion. I understand wiring would be involved with making the pop ups work but wouldn't everything bolt up if I had the hood, fenders, bumper, and lights? Thanks in advance!

Yes it will. Too bad you aren'tcloser. I want to convert my 91 to 92-94 front end.

Ive done this conversion on my 92 GSX, although I haven't got around to wiring everything up. I just leave the headlights half up all the time. The hood, fenders, lights and bumper are the obvious changes. The front fender and light mounts are also different on the core support, so you'll need those from a donor car too. I can take some pictures and post them for you. (My car already had front end damage so some of that stuff had to be replaced anyways.) One thing I will say about doing this conversion is that I had to do a bit of work to get everything to fit properly. The biggest challenge was getting the panel gap between the fenders and door, and fenders and hood correct. It took a good bit of fitting and adjusting.

Cool, it's nice to know that there's a successful conversion out there haha. Thanks for the tips, and sure, I wouldn't mind seeing pics so I know what to look for.

Damn I'm even too lazy to search this for you. (even though it'd just be searching for my own posts)
I basically did a firewall forward swap from a 1gb awd to a 1ga fwd. I wanted the 1ga front end but wanted the awd. Also the engine and harness and blah blah blah. Needless to say, completed both.
Everything works like factory on both. The fwd is no longer in my possession but the guy who owns it is a friend and has never had any complaints about it.
Onward:
You need fenders, hood, eyelids, lights(pop ups and the front pieces), brackets that hold fenders and lights(infront of radiator supports(these will need to have their spot welds drilled), and bumper. Thats just to get it mounted.
To get it to electrically work properly: light motors, engine bay harness(wraps from pass side fuse block, under rad, to driver side wheel well then into car into fuse block, dash harness(runs with the dash- has wiring for popup button, and body harness(runs from fuseblock at driver foot to back of car(all the way to lights at rear) and from fuseblock over to passenger side following dash bar). Yes, you need it all and yes, thats 90% of the wiring in the car. The 1ga engine bay harness(has wiring for light motors and relays) will not plug into the 1gb fuseblock- hence you need the 1ga fuseblock. The 1gb body harness will not plug into the 1ga fuseblock, hence you need the 1ga body harness. The dash harness has the extra wiring for the pop up buttons, can't even remember if the 1gb dash harness will even work with the 1ga body harness because I just moved everything at this point(i suspect not).

I did not choose to swap the 1ga rear end over to the awd chassis and spliced in the body harness over the driver wheel well. Honestly you could do it anywhere past the fuseblock to the back, but this was the most convenient and there is space behind the panel for bulk.
The wire colors at the back almost are the same, but a quick search for someone who has done the rearend swap gave me the colors I needed.
If you decide to tackle this and have a specific question, a pm would be faster as I don't tend to check the forums as much as I used to.

Wow that's much more complicated than I thought haha. Well if I still plan to do the swap and have the cash to do so, I'll definitely come to you with any questions I may have. Thanks!
