Convertible

I just purchased a 1999 GST Spyder on Friday and I had a couple of questions. What is the best cleaner to use for the convertible top? Also, one of the rims looks like it was a victim of curb abuse. Anyone know a place that repairs wheels? These are the factory chromes and even though I plan on purchasing aftermarket, I'd still like to keep these.

I don't know about the top, but the rims are probably going to be cheaper to just find a used one in good shape. There are plenty of those rims around on ebay, dsmtrader, etc. Good luck, congrats on your new Eclipse

Armor All worked really well on my old RX-7's rag top, don't know if it's the same with DSM's.

Yeah, I guess not. I've never looked closely at the DSM convertible tops, I think my RX-7 top was a nylon material, or something close.

Do a web search, or hire a detail shop to do it (or bribe them for a plan).

here is a website that tells you how and sells the stuff, I have a 98 conv. you basically just scrub the top light with soap and water, then you purchase this spray that protects it agains weather, which you spray on and wipe off, and it darkens the top and makes it look new again! works really well.
