Spyder Convertible Top issues glass is catching

so I bought a Ez-on top...put it on...fit great...tested it going up and down...the glass is catching on the brace behind the rear seat...tried adjusting the top...still having the issue...took it to a shop, had them try installing it...same problem...contacted ez-on tops...after about 3 1/2 months, finally got a new top sent...same problem, with a different shop doing the install(a dealer this time)...has anyone else had an issue with these tops lately? I was under the understanding from posts that they were a good top, no install issues. If they didn't have that large glass lip going into the fabric(goes into the fabric about 1 1/4-1 1/2 inches around the window edge) then the top would clear no problem.

or does anyone have another top company to try, that doesn't have that big glass lip going into the fabric around the back top?? I want to get this fixed, especially with the warm weather coming.

can't say ive had this issue...and i just replaced my top today (which wasnt that bad).

stick with the manufactured stuff here i guess?

See, it wasn't hard to replace, just having that clearance issue. What brand top did u go with?

i just bought one off a junked 98 gst spyder.

it had a little trouble going over one of the quarter panel window motors, but i made it fit (that's what she said) .

I only wish I could find a good top from a yard around here...but that's not gonna happen. I need to come up with another company to try...no way am I buying a mits top from a mits dealer($5000, comes with EVERYTHING for the top of the vehicle, including interior cover...ect). Anyone have any suggestions on another convertible top company? Ez-on has been working on this issue with me, so no complaints on the company, just their top is not going to work. Any recommendations would be great. thanks all

sounds like your problem is not the top itself, but the "Z" bars may be bent. check this link, and look at your car ...see if thats the problem....

no, I replaced them with those already last summer, thanks for the suggestion though.
