Ok, so I managed to install my head unit in my 2G TSi by hardwiring it b/c I had no harnesses. However, I noticed that everytime I start up the car the radio stations and the clock are reset. I'm assuming this means that the constant 12V connection is not being made. I thought I connected that, along w/ ground, and acc, but I am not 100% certain which wires do what. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. I'll probably need to figure this out to install my amp as well for the subs.

For installing your Amp, no.

you will run a fused line from your battery, and the remote will come off the blue remote wire out theback of your head unit, or tapped into a switched source, like the fuse block.

red and yellow i think are the positive wires for the unit.
red being constant.

look in a repair manualthey have the diagram

Actually this is a common mistake, yellow is unually the constant on most of the new decks not red. Red is accesory. I would check to see if you accidentally hooked your constant to red and your accesory to yellow as it would cause this problem.

i will try that first actually....i'm not sure though. I remember hooking up the constant 12V to the yellow wire in the car, and the acc to the red wire in the car. I will switch them and see what happens. Thanks :thumb:
