Connector unplugged, I need help identifying it

I have a 1991 automatic gsx and there is a connector right behind the intake manifold and below the cruise control box that I need help identifying.

hmmm been a long time since replacing my original harness with a custom one, but that might be the timing jumper or knock sensor .

It does not go to anything. I have the same thing on mine and it is taped to the harness.

It is for the EGR temp sensor but it was only used on California emissions controlled vehicles.

On my car I completely removed it, all the way to the ECU (this was done with the harness out of the car). You can just leave it there, it won't hurt anything.

Just to go a little more in depth, in case you are interested. The EGR temperature sensor connector has two wires. One is blue with a yellow stripe which leads to pin #15 on the ECU. The other is green with a black stripe; it is a ground wire which Tees into several other ground wires in the midst of the harness.

I find both of these pages very helpful when messing with the engine wiring harness and they are also very helpful for identifying unknown connectors. 1g Color Coded ECU Pinouts and 1g ECU Pinouts on the VFAQ.

Another site that can be used to identify electrical connectors is the Virtual Tour of the 1G DSM Engine Bay. If you are not sure on the name of a sensor or solenoid, you can zoom in on it and select it and then you will know the proper name. Reference the above pinouts and you have your wire colors. Using both of those sites together helped me a lot when I was rerouting my engine wiring harness.

Thanks guys, that must be why my egr temp sensor is reading -12C on the Snap-On scan tool.

You can use it for a 5 volt input, That is the wire you would tap a wideband into to read on a logger, Generally this is done at the ecu, But since the 02 is under the hood, I suppose you could tap into it right where it is.
