Confused about intake setup

I'm confused about what the best intake setup would be. Is it: 3" GM MAF with blow through setup, 2G MAF with blow through setup? Or no blow through set up at all? I plan on running a FMIC. Also, what's better for tuning, MAF translator, SAFC, or both? Thanks.

I'd go with a 2G mas and DSMLink. Most people don't run enough to outflow a 2G mas and you won't have any of the headaches associated with the MAFT. It is the cool thing to have now but I think that it is not necessary for most of the setups you see it on. A 2G mas flow pretty damn good.

DSMLink which is available for 1Gs would be my choice in engine management. If you are short on cash I'd choose the afc over the maft as a tuning device.

your true aout most guyus dont run enuff to have a maf/t but i have a maf/t and a SAFC so your sayin that with a maf/t you dont need an SAFC?

you can just use a maft and no afc, Im actually installing my gm maft and 650's today and I also have a safc.


just set the maf to whatever cc injectors and do all the fine tuning with the afc

So MAFT with the AFC should be pretty good for tuning right? I just bought a non eprom ecu and changed the caps so don't wanna go through the hassle and cost of buying an eprom ecu and dsmlink.

Yes, you should be able to get the car into a pretty darn good tune with those two things.

put it this way. an AFC does an extremely good job tuning. add a maft to that and it does even a better job. not to mention being able to vent your bov, have no restiction in the intake tube, and a better quality mas anyways

outflowing or not i was able to go 12.4 with no afc and maft set at 650's and everything else 0....wsan't able to do that with the 2g maf
