You guys always have the answers so here we go :). I have a 1997 GS-T with a Hahn Super 20G Turbo set to 18PSI and a Greddy Type S BOV. I bought the car already complete from a freind, but as I have been driving I have picked up on things. I went to Road Race Engineering's site and read the article about setting my BOV properly. However I don't want to touch it if i don't have to. I want to ask you guys here what I am hearing. I BELIEVE it is compressor surge but not sure. If I accelerate easy, briskly, or hard up to speed through the gears I hear nothign but a smooth BOV sounds and everything sounds fine. HOWEVER if I am cruising on a flat highway say and in 5th gear and give it some gas, just a bit to accelerate some, when I let off I hear like a "jushh jussh jussh" flutter a few times each time. I watched my boost gauge, and i may only boost a few pounds, even none and still hear this.....i'm a bit worried. According to the Road Race instructions it says that the nut halfway out is about midway and the correct setting for most cars. That's just about where she's at. So what do you guys suggest...leave it alone or tweak it?

Thanks a million ahead of time,

- Mike T.

light compressor surge at very low psi isnt really that bad, but if it bothers you, lighten up the bov alittle and see how that works for you.

Two things will remedy this:

- Back off the spring tension on the BOV.
- Hook up the quick-release feature (if equipped). Some Greddy's have another nipple on the back for a quick-release chamber that will eliminate flutter.

Both will not permit the valve to hold as much boost overall, but 18psi isn't too much these days. If you were attempting to hold 25+psi, you may run into a problem.
