Low boost compressor surge... super pissed

So i finally replaced the stock 2g valve with a blitz dd that came off of a supra. I rigged up a flange out of a plastic filler neck and some epoxy (works well for now). I recirculated it by blocking off the lower port and the top ports and forcing a tube in the mail port. Because this is a dual drive vavle i had to shut off the low boost port and now whenever i dont go over 5 psi or so it flutters (compressor surge). It blows off fine when it sees above 7 psi. How bad is this low surge? Also, it is making the same noise my stock one was making when i build boost---> seems like its leaking. Sounds like a large turbo spooling but i know a t too small wont make that loud of a noise.

Did u do a boost leek test? that will cause the turbo to be loud on spoolup. maybe its not the BOV leaking maybe its some piping or even better your throttle body shaft seal's I love those!!

I didn't do one for some time now. I should! The noise sound like a loud swoosh as boost is building followed by a blow off sound of the valve. It flutters on low boost... grrrrr!

Be aware that some BOV's will flutter like that when they are working properly. There just isn't enough air being vented to achieve the full sound you are looking for. If the valve is adjustable, try either tightening it down some, or loosening it up a little to see if it changes the sound to your liking. Be careful though not to loosen it so much that it starts to leak at your maximum boost.
