Compressor Surge Question....

For some time now I have been experience what sounds to me like compressor surge with my 50 trim/1g BOV setup. It began when I made the swap to the 50 trim and only occurs under extremely low boost, -5 hg to 2-3 psi, at the time I was running a crushed 1g BOV so I assumed that I was a bit agressive in the "crushing". I swapped back to a regular 1g bov and had the same results, i've since crushed that BOV but only served to make it a bit more pronounced. How bad is surge at low boost pressures? (this mostly occurs before I even hit 0 psi on my guage) And any input on how I might fix the situation would be appreicated, thanks.

a bit of BOV flutter at low boost is normal

Not so much of a flutter but more of a lower pitched grunt before the bov opens, doesnt happen when there is sufficient boost to open the valve.

I dont really enjoy talking to myself so much but I'm gonna update the situation so if for some weird reason someone feels like giving some input, they can do so... I swapped the crushed 1g bov for a forge motorsport Valve with the spring tuning kit, BOV is of real nice quality but thats beside the point right now. I still, even with the various springs and spacers get a "grunt" or a low pitched noice of some sort before the BOV opens at low boost (or in my current situation flutters) Low boost being -5 hg to 4 psi. Has anyone else experienced this or know what the hell I'm talking about, it doesnt seem to follow the typical discription of "surge" I have found in other posts. Let me know...
