I tested my car since it wont start and it read all zero's. I did the test according to the back of the tester box. I think besides this my timing may be off maybe a half cm from the IT on the balancer. Could this cause no compression like i am seeing? Maybe a blown head gasket.

I can smell gas in the oil if that matters.

Nothing that will affect your compression test. It just means someone tried to get the optimal angle for the spark to fire towards the center of the cylinder.

Well if a leak down is anything like putting air threw and filling for leaks i can feel each cylinder leaking into all the others. If i was to put a compressor in one it would come out the other 3 holes. I really think my gasket is fried in between the cylinders.

Unless you mean you think your head gasket is non-existent, this is a bigger problem than just a gasket. There is no way around it, you need to pull that head and see what is going on in those cylinders. Sounds like your timing is super off or you have valves that your pistons did the Macarena off of.

What it does is puts air into each cylinder and allows you to hear where it's coming out from. If it's an intake valve stuck open you would hear air coming out of your intake, if it's an exhaust valve you would hear trough the exhaust, and if it's piston rings you could hear trough the oil cap

It would come out the other spark plug holes.. Gimme a few minutes i'll get some compression tests up for my na 86 rx7. If its all zeros we know my tester is bullshit.

Don't know if this will change or help any, but try checking compression with 3 spark plugs still in. Engine might be building compression but if the headgasket is bad it might be blowing it to trough the other cylinders.

I honestly think your timing is messed up. You said the only thing you didn't do is time the balance shafts, but you also said you didn't time it at TDC on cylinder one. Did you ever count the teeth in the belt while putting the belt on to make sure the right amount of teeth were between each cam? That's what I was trying to get you to look at earlier, but you never got back to me.

How about you line up all your timing marks and take some pictures for us. That will help much more.

I can't find the cord to upload off my camera. But i counted when they where lined up and it was 39, i'm sorry for not getting back sooner. I mean would i have no compression with the timing off? I'm going to pull the head and check it out. Nothing can hurt from checking i guess. Also i'll make sure my head isn't warped.
