compression test

i did a compression test yesterday.

i had dry test at 170, 160, 160, 160. this is not at wot. i was wondering if this is good..

Why did you not have it at WOT when doing the test?

It will go up when at WOT, even not at WOT it looks good. I'd say your motor is safe.

me and a mechanic did the test and he didn't say anything about wot so i didn't wot.. how much higher would it be if i were to wot...?

do it again and find out It will go up some but i wouldn't worry about it as your numbers are good as is

ive never done one at WOT. most test are done with the throttle closed. thats what the manuals are usually spec'd at any way.

Where did you come up with that number? What does standard mean? Our cars came with compression of 195, so the closer to that, the better
