Just wondering, but does anyone know about how much it costs to get a shop to do a compression test? Or is it something I can do myself? I've started feeling like such a newb lately, but I'm usually not ;)

I actually might be able to get the test done for free.. My friend is in auto tech at our high school and said that since he's in the class they can do it for free because he knows me. Good deal :thumb:

Just for an update I was charged $45 to do a compression test on mine. I know, I know, I should have done it myself, but I'm lazy.

holy hell you need to be slapped. you could have done it for free, or maybe like $20 for the gauge, but then you could do it again as many times as you want down the road
