I'm looking for people that have these cams and like, or dislike them. My main concerns are:

1. Do they need to be degreed with cam gears? Both on this site and others I've found people saying you do and don't. I was under the assumption they were drop in.

2. Is it aggressive enough? I toyed with getting HKS 272. I have an E3 16G pushing 20+ pounds right now and am thinking about upgrading to a FP Green, or similar, in the future and don't want to have to get cams again.

I won't lie. These cams being like half the price of the HKS is definitely a plus, but I don't want to sacrifice performance for a couple hundred bucks. Any input would be great.

I have these and they are good cams. Idle is stock like, the car feels smoother all around, and they rip hard up top. 101200s supposedly flow more air up top than 272s but they don't spool as fast as 272s.

Do you konw if they have to be degreed or are they just drop in?

Every cam can benefit from being degreed but for 99% of the people out there, the additional hp you can squeek out from doing this isn't with the additional cost of the gears & the required dyno time to set them up properly. If the cost isn't an issue & you want every single hp possible, then get the gears. If your like the rest, just drop them in & go :thumb:

As was mentioned these cams are actually slightly bigger then HKS 272's, they will produce additional flow uptop with some lose in the lower end. As for running these cams at 20 psi + on your evoIII, it may not be able to keep up & your boost may drop off abit in the upper rpms, which is normal & expected until you have a larger turbo, such as the green.

Cool, thanks for the info. I expected for some boost to drop in the top end, but I'm glad to hear these cams will be excellent for a bigger turbo flowing more lbs/min.

Cams idle a little loopy, but up top for me they really pull hard. 5k + also a little bit laggy from the smim

The one thing I love about the 16G is that it hits like an afterburner at like 3500 RPM. So when you say laggy do you mean that it takes longer to spool up before you feel it kick in, or does it seem to be more linear? I feel like I have nitrous on demand, I love this turbo for the street. I just wish I could find something that hits this hard and still pulls harder in the top end.

Well for me I start spooling on the E316g at around 3100-3200 rpm's
running stock 10psi til I get tuned, but you can feel it start to pull.

But once I hit 5k rpm's it feels as if I'm hit by a freight train as boost jumps up to 18psi....
I think do to the cams and the smim design working together....

At that point it hard to keep up with the shifting in 2nd and 3rd seeing as how I accedently hit rev limiter I think twice now....

I installed the 200's in a customers car, make sure that everything on the cam is in its right place when you install them. Its sucks to finish the job, go to start the car and they didn't cut the intake cam right where the cas goes. After getting the second set back from comp, started the car up idle is right up there with stock. First test drive with the big 16G the car ran really good. It pulled pretty hard all the way to redline with only 10-11 lbs of boost. Compared to the 272's well worth the dollar saved.
