My eclipse will need painted. There are obviously other, more pressing issues right now (like a good/clean O2 sensor), once those are taken care of, I plan on grabbing a new fender, possible a new bumper, then having it painted.

The car was originally Kalapana Black, which is fine except that I live in Dever, which isn't known for mild summers.

Currently, the car is painted Tampa Blue Pearl (It's a 3G color, but it actually looks pretty good on a 2G as well). It's a fantastic color in that it's a bit unique, but still somewhat stock looking. I like the color. But I also like black. They're just about an even match, IMO. I honestly can't choose beween one or the other.

So what would you guys recommend?

I'll try and grab some pics of my car at lunch, but here's the color on a 3G:

And Kalapana Black (cause you guys need help visualizing this one... :p ):

I think a very high gloss black with maybe some blue flake in it. :thumb:

You got a lot of work ahead of you if you want to change the color. Plan on removing the doors, rear hatch, hood, bumpers, and fenders if you want to do it right, not to mention half the engine bay.

Yeah, the other person who changed the color just had the outside sprayed. The door, engine compartment, etc. are all still black. In a way though, it looks okay with this color (having black around the doors and engine, etc. that is).

Here's the car right now, btw:

My vote goes for the black.
Too much work in my opinion to change the color.
And since the jams are already black why not just make the exterior the same?:sneaky:

Always black bro! its so sexy

once i take care of some more important things on my baby, im going to get a black paint job too!

not sure if matte black or metallic tho.

thats the good thing about black, so many options with it.

Agreed on the black! Black with blue fakes sounds even better. I will say that the 3g paint is a pretty cool color on a 2g though!

Yeah, with a black hood and black headlight covers, it looks really sweet.

If I do black, I'll probably just do the regular Kalapana Black that came on the car. And, I'll probably have the center taillight trim painted to match as well. I never wanted to do that on my red car, but it looks sweet on black ones.:hellyeah:

Theres alot of work involved in changing the color, door frames, under the hood, under the hatch..good luck

No no, the color was already changed, and they didn't do it properly. The car was originally black from the factory, then one of the POs had it sprayed silver. Just the outside; the engine compartment, door jambs, etc. are all still black. Despite this, it still looks okay.

It's more a question of "Keeping the changed color, or unchanging it?"
