colder spark plugs?

i put in NGK 7 instead of the 6's (during dyno tune) and now i'm driving it daily and feel kind of off. there's a slight miss at idle and i notice the afr is going lean more inbetween shifts. is this the colder plugs fault?

i got the same prob i think but mine original plugs were denso irridiums had them for 2 years ran fine when i changed them out for ngk it started to give me idle problems should i go back to denso??

What kind of mods do you have on your car? If its stock turbo or even a small 16g, you do not need colder plugs. Did you make sure they are gapped right? If not they can foul out easier.

Switch back to 6's and see if that cures it.

I agree with Defiant. In theory though, you shouldn't need the colder plugs without bigger mods. With our cars (420a), we only need to go a range colder with the addition of turbo or nitrous.

Hello, I changed from 6es to 7es NGK...three days ago, I did some research and it is best to go one step colder if boosting over 18psi, or if you are sensing detonation/ knock...I have no issues after the swap, I did gap all plugs to .028. Hope this helps!

so if im only runing 8 psi do i still need to run a colder plug?
