Cold Welding Exhaust Pipe

Is it possible to cold weld or use JB weld to hold to exhaust pipes together

I guess you could try it. That stuff stopped my friend's valve cover from leaking. But I would suggest just using clamps. It's easier and probably better in the long run.

i have tried just about everything with my pipes because i dont have a welder. This is my advice, use clamps to hold stuff where you want it, mount it to your car as strong as you can, if you cant weld try using plumbers tape, the metal stuff, and a series of bolts to secur it, at night or a day your not going to use your car, put the JB weld everywhere you might need it. Just basically clamps and jb weld is what i found works. GL

I used cold weld on my manifiold to hold my egt probe in tightly and it worked great so i'm assuming it might work to hold an exhaust pipe together unless the vibrations get the best of it.

I would have to say that using JB Weld on an exhaust pipe is asking for problems. It's just plain ghetto. I don't mean to sound like an ass, but I think you know that it is not the right way to do it. A muffler shop can weld it up for you for almost nothing. Get it done right.
