Cold exhaust?

i been fighting with an idle surge issue for a while now and today i went to smell my exhaust to see what was going on so i put my hand by the tip.

when the idle would raise the exhaust would be hot and when the idle drops (idle surge) the exhaust coming out feels cold.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON HERE!? ive never seen or heard of anything like this before

EGT changes with AFR. You're probably going very lean or rich when the idle drops.

When the throttle is closed and rpms are over 2000 the ecu cuts fuel. If your idle surge meets those criteria, I'd guess that is what you are seeing.
