My question is one a newbie would as hehe,

And since i am a newbie at suspensions i will ask LOL, what is the difference between coilovers and springs? I know with coilovers u can adjust the drop. But someone mentioned with coilover u do NOT need shocks, is this true?

Also, if ^^^ is true can one change the shocks and i dunno put in kyb gr-2? thanks

Other suspension mods that are done/will be done:
Front & Rear Strut Bars
Rear Sway bar kit
17" Rims wit 205 z rated tires (looking into which tire is best)
Brembo front rotors
Greenstuff Brake Pads
Disc conversion in the rear (Still deciding)

All macpherson struts have a spring that fits over the strut. The term “coilover” typically infers some suspension height adjustability. Coilover shocks have an adjusting ring on the shock body or a sleeve that slides over the shock. “Coilover kits” provide you with a spring and a perch that usually fit over a standard macpherson strut. True coilovers have a threaded shock body to support the spring perch.

With coilovers u dont need shocks? i dont know if i read it wrong but if you get coilovers you will want a good brand shock thats strong because depending on the quality of the coilover your car will bounce and you will need a good strong shock to prevent that, i had some of my car before and it was almost like having hydraulics cuz the car would bounce all over the place, i guess it was the brand i had which i think were top speed coilovers DONT GET THOSE anyways, if u want that ability to drop ur car then do coilovers but make sure u get a good strut like a gr2 or agx brand.....

save yourself the trouble and go with agx's as your shocks. i had the gr2's then bought gc's, but in order for front coils to fit correctly, you have to trim the shock. hope this helps.
