This may be a dumb question, here goes. I'm installing Megan coil overs right now and I need to know if the suspension needs to be loaded or unloaded. My guess, is it has to be loaded as if the wheels are on the car. I basically need to know how much to lengthen the strut from the base.

to install them it needs to be unloaded but if you are talking about adjusting them it doesn't matter. i will say it is a little easier to adjust them with some weight off of the suspension. hope this helps

Thanks for the response. It just seems that if the control arms are unloaded and hanging there, the strut/shock will have to be adjusted almost out of the base for it to bolt up to the steering knuckle/trailing arm.

I just installed my Megans yesterday too but I remember reading on a thread here (that they should be installed without any load on them. I'm still waiting on Ingalls camber arms so I can have her aligned nicely. I also need to drop it about another inch or so.
How did your install go?
