Ok so i got a 98 gst spyder...right now im driving on blown stock suspension and im on a tight budget and need to get the suspension fixed before the winter and since im going to school i only have about $700 MAX to spend right now and not really much time to wait and save up more. I've narrowed it down to two coilover kits...either NEX Type GT or Yonaka Racing Coilovers...i know the saying "what you pay for is what you get" but its the best i can do. My car is a daily driver street car that probably wont hit over 350 hp when im done with it and I only take it to track for 1/4 mile runs about 4-5 times a year so i dont need an expensive coilover kit. I'm looking for a stiff, firm ride with the ability to adjust ride height. The thing I like about the Yonaka is that they come with a lifetime warranty but they dont have damper adjustment they only have ride height adjustment and the plus for the NEX is that they have dampening adjustment but i'm not sure if it will be necessary for me to have that option. I'm just wondering (preferably from people who have had 1st hand experience with these coilovers) which set up from these two will be better. What do you guys think would be better out of these two for a very stiff and firm ride?

Well that's +1 for the NEX kit...how is the ride with that kit on and how well does your car handle? Anyone else have any input?

And I just did some research and realized that the spring rate on the NEX coilovers is very similar to the Megan racing set up and the spring rates on the NEX are 12 in the front and 6 in the rear which should provide a nice stiff, tight and firm ride correct?

Anyone have any more input please?

I have NEX on my GS, and they are pretty damn stiff... esp driving through the city on some torn up roads. All depends on how much you can take. Personally, after a good 20 mins, my back was starting to hurt a little from the bumps and pot holes in toronto, so i'm looking to switch over to the megans in the GS and get a set for the GSX as well.
The Nex ones i have didn't come with a dampener so it's balls to the wall all day.
However, I can say those with some tower struts really stiffen the damn thing up! Doing 30km on ramps at 100 and the car sits flat, no give what so ever. Feels pretty damn good! haha

OH! and on the NEX ones, I've had them for 2 summers, and had to replace the rear bushings at the end of each season. they just got torn up! so, i replaced them with some drilled out hockey pucks this time. We'll see how they hold up.
