code 0044 ignition circuit malfunction

ok so we have been having an issue with a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd. for a while it was idle surging as soon as t started up and even after reaching temp. we blocked off the isc and fiav. it still surged all the time. performed a boost leak test found some minor leaks(tb gasket,boost gauge line, and biss screw)fixed the leaks and no more leaks.started the car and it still surged. installed hallman manual boost controller started the car and the surge went away. untill it warmed up then it started surging again and running on only 2 cylinders #2 and #3 and then threw a cel code of 0044(ignition circuit malfunction). we changed out the power transistor and coil pack with know working units and still gets the cel. car will idle with just the two cylinders but that is all it would do. anyone got any ideas

im having the same problem i just found out with dsmlink its throwing the same code im just not getting spark in those two cylinders everything else is fine. and its the same exact cylinders as well 1 and 4 i know its not the coil pack because ive tried two of them and ive tried my coil on plug setup i know its not the transistor pack because it works perfectly in my friends dsm. btw my car is a 1g awd 94 if that helps. if someones been through this please chime in. thanks!
