cobalt boost gauge problems

so i bought a autometer coblat boost gauge like 2 months ago and everyonce and awhile it stops working until i unplug the power or disconnect the battery. i know its hooked up correctly because when it works the boost is right where its supposed to be. same with the vaccuum. any ideas what could be wrong? im gonna recheck the connections tonight just to make sure.

I can only think of it be something to do with the connections. What wire did you tap into?

i used the power from my tt and the ground and power from the cig. lighter

So did you use the power from the TT or the cig. lighter?

It is usually recomended that you only use one power source for one item. IE the TT uses one power source and the gauge uses an other seperate power source.

well the gauge has two power wires because it is an electrical gauge. it has a power for the lights and a constant 12v during cranking. the power for the lights is ran off the lighter and the constant power during cranking is ran off the tt.

I just had the same problem with my c2 guages. I have the guage light power hooked up to the dash lighting and the constant power hooked up to my turbo timer. The guages quit registering, but the line had power. After I unplugged them and hooked them up again they worked. Must be the guage.
