I've seen quite a few people using the SBC kevlar disk lately and decided that Kevlar was the route I wanted to go. I just wanted to know if anyone had any opinion on the clutchnet kevlar. I've had a clutchnet sprung 6 puck in my car for about 4 years now and I absolutely love it but it has been tearing into my flywheel making transmission issues. It will be paired up with an act2600 and act streetlite flywheel. The two clutches look nearly the same but to be honest I really like the look of the clutchnet hub compared to the sbc.

Bottomline. Can the clutchnet kevlar yield similar results as the SBC?

Their disks are just fine, I am sure that you will be happy with it. If they are running the encapsulated spring hub I would give it a try. Here is the link to interested people: ClutchNet Manufacturing USA :: Mitsubishi Eclipse :: Kevlar clutch disc with sprung hub for Mitsubishi Eclipse

They are the same price as the South Bend Clutch units. As well, the 2-spring/4-bushing hub on the SBC Kevlar disk (Exedy Racing hub) is no longer being used. Now SBC is using a 4-spring hub for the standard version, and the HD 6-spring hub with beefy spline hub is a $50.00 upgrade option. The 4-spring hub is an Exedy part, and the HD 6-spring is a SBC hub design normally used on the Mk4 Toyota Supra Turbo.

Twicks, I was really hoping you would reply to this thread.. I saw some posts you made on someone elses thread and really wanted your opinion. Will shifting be a concern with the full faced disc?

Heck no. It should shift totally fine up to 9K rpm. Transmission shaft bearing preloads and proper clutch hydraulics/adjustment are more important for high rpm shifting than the clutch itself. I ran my SBC TZ-Series kevlar disk with an ACT2600 to 9K all the time. Never had shifting issues.
