Clutch will not engage to put into gear. Stalls out when coming to a stop as if the clutch isn't disengaged completely. Can't figure this out. Any help will help. ACT 2100 about 30,000 miles on her as well as other internals

Kinda spongy. It feels like the point at which the clutch is suppose to engage, it seems as if I could push the pedal further, I'd have no problems. I have adjusted the bolt that connects to the master cyl. That didn't help at all.

Well the clutch itself could simply be done for. 30K mi. is a bit premature for a clutch, but I'm not sure of your driving habits.

Did get spongy all of a sudden or gradually?

Can the 2g clutch bushings break like the 1g ones. If so that can be it. Mine did that and my pedal play got worse and worse until I couldnt engage or disengage my clutch at all.

+1 on inspection of the clutch/master cylinder. Check the adjustment of the rod on the master cylinder that pushes the fork, and pedal. Improper clutch adjustment can cause premature wear.

Well let us know what you find with the master. If it's been grinding going into gear at a stop, it's needed adjustment for a while LOL.

Don't go tearing off the tranny until we've ruled out all the simple fixes though.

Check the fork and pivot ball if adjusting the master cylinder rod doesn't help. Forks bend after they're used enough or deteriorate enough.

Also, your engage/disengage terminology confused the crap out of me and made me re-read posts several times to make sure I understood the intended meaning. Don't take this wrong but can we use this instead:

Clutch engaged = foot off pedal, clutch disk engaged with flywheel and pressure plate.
Clutch disengaged = pedal depressed, clutch disk disengaged from flywheel and pressure plate.

sounds like a master/slave cylinder problem. did you adjust the clutch pedal rod correctly? how long has it been like that. any fluid leakage? from experience you would have noticed your clutch giving out on you gradually unless you did a 8000rpm launch at the track. LOL seriously though start cheap then work your way up.

Im thinking master/slave problem as well. Also check all of your clutch lines. There is a spot in my clutch line that is almost worn through from a wiring harness rubbing against it. So it is possible there could be a leak in the line somewhere. Like Kreez said, don't resort to pulling the tranny until the simple checks have been done.

new battery and 5 minutes of idle time, and she runs strong minus clutch issue, no tune yet, boost leak/spike and wideband sensor absense... crappy audio via my galaxy and thermal exhaust. any thoughts on this

btw... 6bolt swap bottom end, 7bolt head automatic to 5speed conversion. will post video as soon as i get to a wifi hotspot.

am i going to have issues mix and matching clutch parts due to years of head and bottom end?
