Clutch stick/ Clutch not popping back

I was driving around on the highway and I pushed the clutch in to shift into 2nd gear when i noticed the clutch is not following my foot back to the disengaged point it will stay decreased and will pop the gear if you don't grab it with your foot or hand. Can someone tell me whats wrong with my clutch? Is it a Disconnected Clutch Cable or what?

How does the pedal feel? Pretty spongy or normal? Im betting there is a little air in the system.

the pedal feels different when i push in it stays in i can reach down and tug a lil and it pops back out .

does it feel like you lost pressure in the system? does the pedal just sink as soon as you put your foot on it, or is there a little tension when you push it down?

kinda goes in with lil pressure not as much pressure as before

Bleed system and is that dont work check you master and slave and see if either are leaking.

Pull the pedal out and check the fluid level. If it's low you can use brake fluid to fill it up. You also need to bleed it of any air. If it is low I would recommend that you check the system for any leaks. Sometimes the clutch master cylinder tends to leak under the dash.

This happend to my dads friends car once as well.. When we took it apart we noticed the clutch was "glazed over" and stuck together.. try popping it off if thats the problem.. or possible you have something stopping it from coming back completely?

well at first i filled it and it was taking the brake fluid nicely and clutch pedal went back to normal and than tonight it just flat out wouldn't take any pressure on the pedal so i checked fluid and it was empty so i was stuck in middle of the busy road and a cop has to use his car to push me into a parking lot and i fill it up while in the parking lot and it wouldn't take the brake fluid so i had to tow it home with a chain. So should i just replace the master cylinder or contact Mitsu and talk about getting them to send something to me?

You definitely have a bad master cylinder, to say the least. Replace the slave while you are at it.

well my local auto stores don't have the slaves but the whole master cylinder and i couldn't tell if it comes with the whole package.

The master and slave are two separate parts and I have never seen them offered together. Just order them online.

ya most likely ill just get the cylinder i don't have that type of money as of now, and sucky thing is that yesterday was my birthday.

I wouldn't spend anything yet. You have yet to fegure out the problem. Stop guessing look under the dash at the back of the clutch pedal do you see fluid? If nothing follow the clutch line off the master to the slave on the trans. Do you see any leaks?
