Algonquin,
so this is the first time this has happend. but when i floored it and boost kicked in.. i felt a shaking and it didn't seem like the clutch was grabbing. i tried it a couple times.. and it wouldn't take off like normally it would when the boost kicks in. anyone know what the problem is??? i didn't smell the clutch burning so i don't think its that. but if anyone can help i'd appreciate it. thanks.

how do you tell if you need new wires and plugs. cause my wires look in good still. and i looked at the plugs and they're still shiny and can see the metal fine.

the wires are stock still (43kmiles) plugs have about 5k miles.

It doesn't really matter if the wires or plugs look good they just kinda wear out somehow. I dont know the specifics of it I just know they do. My plug wires and plugs looked perfect when my car was doing this too and when i changed them it ran great again.
However its more likely your plug wires than your actual plugs so change those first and if it still does it than its your plugs.

let me know how you make out.

will i be okay to drive home, cause i'm at school and i can't get it fixed till i go home this friday. its about 250mile drive??

Yeah you will be okay driving it home, just go easy on the gas and it won't buck much. However theres no reason why you can't change the plug wires while at school. I mean they require no tools to change and your ride home will be more fun.

Same here. It is just a friendly talk about flywheels. That is what the subject started on right? The title says 'clutch slipping??? help' and this is a workng part of that situation.

Anyways, I hope that it is just plugs and wires. I also suggest the MSD 8.5, they have done good by me!

i ordered the plugs and wires today hopefully they'll be here before i leave fri. but i figured i can changed the wires w/ out any tools. but what about the plugs? the only tools i have are screws drive, adjustable wretnch, pliers.. no rachets.

do the plugs require a specific torque when tightening.

Well you might be lucky and not need to change the plugs because it could just be the wires (usually is). But if you do change the plugs basically get them finger tight with a socket on an extension and then turn them roughly half a turn more, they don't need to be very tight. Just dont overtighten them.

If you don't have the tools to change the plugs just go to a random garage and ask if you can borrow a ratchet for a minute, they won't mind.

are the plugs already gapped properly or will ihave to do that myself? if so what do i gap them too... .028"????

For the plug wires i have never gone wrong with my NGK wires got em for 20 bucks.

For the plugs do not go with platinum plugs if you don't get the NGKs. just some 98 cent copper plugs work great.

To test your wires (not 100% but it is easy and helps) open the hood in a dark street on a dark night (parking lots work well). Start the car and reach in and wiggle the wires. Over time the silicone outers can develope microcracks that allow the current to flow through the insulation instead of down the wires. This is accentuated by oil and debris on the outside of the covering that can significantly lower the surface resistance. This will be seen as blue flame looking sparks running down the outside of the plug wires.

If you don't have tools any common parts store (autozone, orileys, advance, napa, etc ) will often have a loaner kit...it doesn't have much but usually has a plug wrench extension and ratchet.

As for the flywheels do they really help that much??? I could draw one up and make myself a billet alluminum one.

the plugs and wires shoud be here later today so i will let you guys know if the problem is solved. if not i'll back asking for help again.

you guys are geniuses!! it was the wires! i put the new wires and problem solved.. and i went ahead and changed the pluges too since i had them.. thanks guys i appreciate all the help!!

one more quick question, the wires are thicker so they wouldn't fit in the brackets i noticed that they're touching each other and touch the engine which gets really hot.. is that normal. ???

I done think it will hurt them. Im pretty sure mine touch and i dont have any problem with them. They are made to take pretty hot temps seeing as where they are located.

Also:
