Alright here we go, This all started out about a week ago. My clutch pedal i noticed had waaay to much play in it, almost all the way to the floor before the clutch was engaged..so i figured id just adjust the toe play...so i did. it was fine for about a day. As i was driving home from work i noticed the pedal was Extremely tight..no freeplay at all. So when i got home i popped the hood..I notice there is pretty much no fluid in my clutch resivoir, the resivoir also has a build-up of greyish colored gunk in it...I filled the resivoir up with some DOT4 fluid and drove around my neighborhood, then.. my clutch starts slipping..i pull over, remove the resivoir and clean it out along with the hose from the resivoir to the cylinder...and i also re-adjusted the pedal for more toe-play. Ok here's my question, does anyone know if this could be a sign of a bad cylinder or should i be concerned with something else..any help would be greatly appretiated..thank you in advance.

Well, i would say that you have a leak somewhere. Check the slave cylinder by pulling the rubber boot off. If fluid is present or drips out the slave is junk. Also check the clutch master cylinder by going into the car and looking for wetness on the bulkhead or on the rubber boot

I had a leak one time and it all was ending up in the foot well. All I did was refill the resevoir with Brake Fluid w/ Leak Seal and it worked fine from then on. I dunno if that works all the time but it was a 4 dollar fix for me
