hey. i have a 2nd gen eclipse gst spyder. ive owned it for a couple months now. ive done regular maintenance on it. just recently though i had to replace the clutch. it had no symptoms of a slipping clutch. all i had was chattering. well on a drive from socal to norcal it drove fine. everything seemed normal. as soon as i got home and went for a drive all of a sudden i couldnt get it in to gear. koo. maybe bad slave. but as soon as i came to a stop with clutch pedal in it the car stalled. so i started up in gear and shure enough i hear this horrible sound and car starts rolling forward pretty quick. i figured something snapped inside and now the clutch wont disengage. i dropp the tranny and found a pretty much brand new clutch. the disk though was done. had plenty of meat on it. wierd part is that the springs had broken off. there was damage done to the disk. so im assuming that could of been from the clutch chattering a lot. i replaced the clutch and i couldnt get it in to gear still. i bled it and adjusted the clutch pedal. and i got it to go in to gear. my issue still exists with the chattering though and clutch pedal feels really notchy. its smooth all the way until almost reaching the botttom where there is a noticeable amount of increase in pressure. it feels as if something is preventing it from engaging smooth all the way down. it wasnt like that before. im pretty new to the dsm world. i came from a 3k, stealth platform.
