So I just finished replacing 4 rotors, 4 brake pads, and 2 rear calipers. I let them bed in a bit I was out driving for about 30 - 40 miles just to let everything settle in. Now I have a feeling I maybe be facing another problem.. aghh. The engage point seems to be a little higher than it was earlier in the day and it doesn't feel like the car is "grabbing" very well. Now I was on an abandon road near my house I launched at about 3 or 4 grand or so... STUPID idea :(. And I smelled the clutch for about a minute or so... and thats when I noticed it started to engage higher and not grab as much. The car is now cooling down no idea if that will do anything or if I've completely screwed up the clutch. The car is a 92 and has 63,000 miles on it. Stock clutch. So what should my next steps be?

1) Check to see if you have enough clutch fluid.
2) Don't ever do a launch or a high-rev on a hot roasted smelling clutch
3) If your clutch is slipping, it is probably time for a new one. 63k is about the end of a clutch's life.
4) Go WOT (wide open throttle) in 4th gear and see if it slips. Clutches will slip in higher gears first before they start slipping in lower gears.

Alright it doesn't look very good. Theres plenty of clutch fluid. The car stalls in 4th gear if I let the clutch out slowly with the e-brake on which is still a good thing. However at WOT in 4th and 5th gear its revving really high and not matching the mph. My next question is how much longer do you think I can drive this car for locally? I'm talking like < 10 miles not going on the highway? My third question is I was looking at some ACT clutch kits, and it looks like those don't come with a flywheel what do you recommend I get for a clutch setup. I'm looking to turbo this car within the next couple of years so if I'm going to upgrade the clutch now, I think I rather spend the money on something like an ACT2100 or 2600 that would be able to handle the power later on. Thanks guys.

My clutch took about 4 months for city driving to die (and it was not fully dead) after it started slipping in 4th gear. It all depends on how you drive. Don't race it and it'll last longer.

Also, I don't think ACT does not make any clutches for 1G N/Ts. Perhaps someone with more knowledge on N/T cars can suggest on a clutch for you.
