So it slowly got harder and harder to shift on my car. I have a 2g tranny in it and a 2600. Well one day it got to where I had to use alot of force to get it into gear. Next day, it locked me out completely. I was at a stop light, and I had to start it in gear... and it wanted to lunge forward, so I had to hold the break to keep it from going forward, while the clutch is to the floor, and give it enough gas it wouldn't kill itself. It somewhat shifted to the next gear, but downshift was impossible.
So I drove it up my slanted driveway with the clutch never leaving the floor. I re-bled the clutch twice, and tried adjusting by the pedal assembly. Neither helped. My master and slave are new. No leaks.
Well I got the tranny off, the throwout bearing looked pretty dead, and the ring closest to the shift fork was in two
.
My friend was helping me with this and insisted that the throwout bearing wouldn't have done all this.. It HAS to be the pedal assembly.
Any thoughts? It's going to be a while before I have another day off to get the twin disc put it and tranny back on, so figured I'd post in here, see what everyone thought.
