Ok here it is........ My GSX was being shipped from Dallas to Anchorage! She was in perfect shape... When I get to Anchorage the shipping company tells me there was a problem, I go to see my car and there is a gapeing hole in my bell housing! So we take it to a transmission shop... turns out my pressure plate blew up and ****ed some sh!* up!!!
 Costs me over 4 grand to fix... so we have it rebuilt with a new ACT 2600 clutch pressure plate and flywheel (i dont know what all the fuss is about that clutch is not hard at all)but anyways.. shes home now and now its leaking some kind of fluid from the tranny ...ANY IDEAS what those jacka$$'s did to my car to mess it up? Thanks in advance for the replies! ;)

All of that didn't happen on the shipping truck. Like was just said, someone took your ride out, and tore the sh*t out of it. I would be retaliating on that issue. I wouldn't be paying a cent. The shipping Co would get the bill on that one.

Wasn't the mileage documented on the vehicle when it was pickup? and when it was dropped off?

Spontaneous pressure plate explosion only happens about three times in never.

If you paid a cent to have that repaired, you're..... well, it's not a good thing.

Did you replace the rear main on the crank when you did the trans?

As for the mileage, that's easily duped by pulling the speedo sensor.

The chances of the nimrods who grenaded his transmission of thinking of this are even less than that of the spontaneous pressure plate explosion.

Also, if I'm reading 97DSMAWD's post correctly, he hasn't fixed it yet - so there's still hope. 97DSMAWD - you need to have a serious talk with the higher-ups at the shipping company - they owe you a new transmission.

Oh no!! That sucks bro! :thumbdown You definately need to go after those bastards! I can see them now... "Ain't this one of them there tuRbo fast and furious cars Jed?? Yup! But I've dumped the clutch damn near 10 times in a row, and for the life of me I can't get the damned thing to burn out!!" OMG I hope you can get those dumb asses to pay for the damages THEY obviously caused.

by the way im a chick!!!LOL
We did try to sue but they told us since they dont check mechanical before shipping it ... i dont have a damn case!!! So yes i paid over 4 gs to get the tranny rebuilt!!! and the mileage had only two extra miles on it... so yes someone was joyriding :barf:

Yea, of course they're going to tell you that you don't have a case, they don't want to pay for anything. Talk to a lawyer, they'll be the one who can tell you whether or not you have a case. Does the shipping company give you some kind of checklist as to the car's pre and post shipping condition??

You -may- have screwed yourself by fixing it yourself and not taking pictures/taking it up with the shipping company right away, as now it's much harder to prove that it rolled off the truck broken.

Were there any witnesses to the car being driven onto the truck ?
That would prove the damage wasn't there when loaded, assuming the car could not be moved under its own power when it was unloaded after damage.

The car is their legal responsibility from when it leaves your hands to when it returns to your hands - anything in between belongs to the shipping company. If the car was driven onto the trailer with witnesses and could not be driven off under its own power, you should have no problem proving their responsibility. Unless your contract includes a comprehensive waiver, then you could be scr*w*d.

Well im not to sure about the contract crap because my husband is in the military the shipping was free... As to talking to a lawyer they were the ones who told me I didn't have a case..... bastards  The checklist consist of the outer damage to the car that has already been done. So I'm just going to warn everyone DO NOT SHIP YOUR CAR TO SEATTLE because that is where it happened. Some peice of SH** thought he could have fun with my baby and actually he probably tried to launch and side stepped it and the result of his stupidity is  :barf:  and $ 4,000.00 Of my hard hard earned saved money to get her running again.. So beware of jacka$$'s in Seattle and SHIPPING COMPANY's Thanks for all the input guys!!!

Ouch... This is just horriable... And I can't believe that their isn't a case... I'm in the Military and their are some many dumb people around here.. But shipping is contracted and I guess you just returned from oversea's... So the Shipping Company would be shipping cars all the time in that case... I would go to a few different attorneys... IF you have Pictures or not... God imagine if it was a Skyline or something... I have a buddy in Japan who just bought his GT-R.... He can't wait to get it here and do some road racing and show off his non-streat leagal jewel... Anyways... I'm sorry to hear this...

Is the oil from the Tranny or Engine.. Tranny oil usually has a very nasty smell to it as where engine oil has almost no oder to it.. If you had a trany shop do the repairs the chances of them useing synthetic are slim to non unless you told them too... Once you know what is leaking it probably won't be to hard to find it's source..
