I got an exedy stage 2 clutch put in about 2 years ago, it never really seemed to be exactly "right"

it got progressively worse over time and right now the clutch engages and disengages fine but the pedal sticks, i push it to the floor and shift when i release it will come about 3/4's of the way out and then stop, then it will eventually pop back up all the way on its own(i always just pull it up with my foot) ... I have had a mechanic say that its the pressure plate but after looking into details about the clutch system I feel like it could just need to be adjusted, what do you guys think I should look for...

also another thing, throughout this time it has gotten worse, the other day getting on the interstate I felt the clutch was slipping a little so I just let off... just thought i would add that

Thanks for the help!

try adjusting the clutch. If you do some research on this site you will find the link on how to adjust your clutch pedal. Also check for leaks on your clutch master cylinder and your slave cylinder. the master cylinder usually leaks from the iniside.

thanks for the reply, just checkin ... the adjustment I need to mess with is the one under the dash on the clutch pedal assembly

thanks for the info, im gonna look at it tomorrow ill update again after

Alright, so I took a look at it and the only thing that I can adjust is on the cruise control switch, is this right?? thanks , im takin it to a mechanic tomorrow but I want to know as much as i can to make sure if it can be fixed it gets fixed, already been told by 2 diff mechanics that the pressure plate was bad ... any input appreciated

update : i have a better understanding of how everything works now ... adjusted things a little cant really tell much difference, i think it need to be bled however it was wierd today in the drive thru i was pulling up and engine got low rpm a little chatter nothing unusual and then when i let the clutch out it was fine, pressure was back all the way through, but it only lasted like 3-4 shifts and if progressed back to the same light top end stiffens up at engagement point then sticks there when you let out the clutch ... oh well, hopefully i can figure it out tomorrow when i get it to a shop
