Alright, Ive got a 98 eclipse with a Hyperdrive C2 Street/Strip Full Clutch Kit and Hyperdrive racing flywheel. The clutch is not very good for street driving around where i live as there is lots of stop and go traffic. Anyone have advice on a nice daily driver clutch capable for higher hp? Heres a mod list.

Short route huge fmic
hard intercooler piping with 4layer couplers and heavy duty clamps.
Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve
Inline-pro boost controller
Original MHI EvoIII Big 16G Turbo
Walbro 190 fuel pump
680cc injectors
SAFC2 AIR/FUEL Controller
Apexi N1 3" catback exhaust system
New power steering pump
2 inch racing radiator
New Hyperdrive C2 Street/Strip Full Clutch Kit
Hyperdrive racing flywheel

You want the actual clutch also. That looks like a good price 4 the Pressure Plate. Just make sure you get a disc, and get an OEM TOB, the ACT one is supposedly trash. Street disc is a good choice 4 the disc. You DO NOT want puck'd as a DD.

I still say 2600, it was VERY TOUGH getting home after it got installed. Stalled at every single stop light 4 about a day of driving. After that, it's 2nd nature, I don't notice. Even my friend, who has a stock clutch, can drive it perfectly. Your probly poundin close enough to 350tq to get a 2600.

As for YOUR clutch, I would recommend keeping it in. If its tough, that means its good (generally speaking). The tougher it is to drive, the more it holds. (generally speaking) You'll get used to it. Just keep up the hard work. (Don't drive any ladies around for a few days) No matter what clutch you get, you'll have to learn it, and it will be hard.

LOL! Thats just was i was thinking about, id be embarrassed to drive anyone around with the jumpy skipping clutch mashings. I mean, ive had 5 speeds for 4 years now so im not new to the whole manual transmission thing, this clutch is just way too ridiculous for daily driving.

No it really isn't... My FIRST manual car (the one on the flatbed in my avatarROFL ) had a 6 puck racing clutch. You just have to be smooth, it isn't hard to drive. Just go out to some country roads with a full tank of gas and practice a bit. In the long run a 2600 will be nicer in the fact that you won't have to upgrade again and you have peace of mind that it will take the abuse. :thumb:

this one just doesnt feel right. The guy that had the car before me installed it. It ticks when the clutch is out and is extremely rough for stop and go. Maybe somethings wrong with it. I dont know enough about it to make an educated decision on its condition. Im pretty confident that this is as far as im going with mods. And if i do decide to mod more, ive got the money to switch to something better. Im just looking for a nice DD clutch.

I personally daily drove my talon with the ACT 2600 pressure plate and street disc for 3 years...Got use to it, never had a problem driving it. Pedal pressure was fairly heavy, but once you get use to driving with it, traffic wasnt a big issue and i really enjoyed the clutch.

The main reason I loved the 6 puck... My friends wouldn't be able to drive it. :thumb:
