Hi, thanks for taking they time to read this and hopefully lending me a hand.

Last spring after a winter of adding mods, my clutchmaster stage 3 clutch went. I then got a full race spec shep tranny, spec stage 3+ clutch with their lightweight option, and their aluminum flywheel along with a ss clutch line. After installing everything it was mutch better. I then decided to adjust the clutch pedal. This is when all of my problems started. Ever since then the clutch would engage right off the floor. I changed the slave and master with no affect. Soon after my TOB split into 3 pieces (it was an oem one) replaced it with another oem unit. None of this fixxed the engagement right off the floor and the hard shifting. I then decided to add a longer slave cylinder rod, which helped slightly. By the time that I did this it was Nov. here in Wis. so I put it away for winter. Over the winter I pulled the transmission and added a few washers behind the piviot ball thinking that this would help, but it didn't. What do I do? If I used the extended slave rod I WILL preload the TOB. I have no idea what is causing this. By the way it has been bleed about 15 times since this problem started about 1000 miles after the clutch and tranny install. I am lost. I think the only option I have to try is to get a 3000gt VR4 slave because it has a smaller cylinderbore which means a longer extention of the rod.
Thanks for the help.

Update:

Lastnight I removed the slave cylinder and added the longer rod that I had. It defenitaly pre-loaded the TOB and still didnt fix my problem. I starts to engage where it should now, half way up, but with it in gear and the clutch in, the wheels will move when I rev it to 4k, so it is not fixed. Any ideas on the cause of this would be greatly appreciated since I will be shifting at 8500rpm this year and I feel like saving my tranny.

Thanks

I have adjusted it over and over with no change. The master rod is all the way out and the cruise switch is all the way out. I didnt mention this before because I didnt feel that it was relavant, but my car is off the ground on jackstands, so is the tire movement normal?
Thanks again.

This should be some help to you. This was found on RRE's website under the tech tips.

2G Pedal "Pump Up"
If you are fighting an inconsistent pedal adjustment in a 2G, adjust the upper pedal stop adjuster so that you gain additional free play at the top of the pedal travel. If this is your problem, you will notice that the pedal suddenly gets very tight and the release point will suddenly move up a lot, this is the cause.

2Gs need free play at the top of the pedal travel. If it is close to no travel and right on the edge, then it pumps up. Only 2Gs have a relief valve in the master cylinder that needs to be uncovered so fluid can go back into the reservoir on the clutch release. If not, it gets tighter and tighter and tighter. Then it may slowly relieve the pressure and it is back to normal. Just a 2G thing. You need more free play at the top of the pedal travel.

Left unchecked, the pedal will pump up more and more. The clutch will begin to slip since it is as if you are driving around with your foot on the clutch pedal. Also it plays hell on the crankshaft thrust bearings. The constant pressure pushes the clutch release bearing onto the clutch and flywheel. When centrifugal force throws the clutch release fingers outwards, they make additional pressure on the thrust bearings of the crank. This is an additional factor in short lived crankshaft release bearings and an additional potential cause for crankwalk.

hopefully this will help to solve your problems, Good Luck:dsm:

If it helped, your hydraulics system is misadjusted. The longer slave rod doesn't add more output of the slave. Asjust it per the service manual. Check the slave to be sure it's not in cut-off by pushing the slave rod into the body of the slave cylinder. You should still be able to do this.
