closed laptop mount

ok so ive been using my laptop for music in my car for awhile now and i got tired of people kicking it or it sliding and my cord is rather messed up so i have to fix it often due to the movement so i figured i would mount it and it will hopefully fix my problem i simply bent a couple L brackets into U's and screwed them up here are some pics. also i didnt have tape on them at first and it kinda scratched the top of the laptop so i just put some good ol' electrical tape over them and it provides a little more grip along with a softer surface. this thing is surprisingly solid too and only about 15 minutes of work

Ah wow. Nice work on the brackets. How do you stand to ride in that car with the red stuff. Looking at it just makes my eyes hurt.

I have a laptop that I plan on using for dataloging. I need to find a new processor for it though. Its been setting in my closest since 1998. Old IBM Thinkpad with an actual serial port.

I wonder if I could plug it into my Stereo's Aux in and have it play music and data log at the same time.

it only scratched it before i put the electrical tape on it not that i really care its only a cheap 400 dollar laptop. as for controlling the music i've just got a play list i can listen to all the way threw without wanting to change a song but i'm looking into like a remote for it i'm sure there is one out there. and yes i also hate the red but its how i got the car i'm waiting to get a job to change it then everything and i do mean everything will either be green, black, or polished

I like the spot for the mount. I may change the way you did it some, but this may be the ticket to shutting the wife up about "holding the damned laptop all the time".

i dont even know what the steering wheel looks like underneath but i just might take you up on that offer, and ill do you one better ill make a video of me soaking it in gasoline and setting it a flame.

Keep the interior OEM color. I went and looked at a couple of first gens I would have otherwise bought when I was in the market for a new DSM and really wanted a 2g but they all had that interior painted crap. UGH

nah i dont like the oem color of it unless i could find a black one then i would use it but if not i will just end up painting this one black and green i mean alot of its already been painted
