Clogged Catalyic Converter?

What are the signs of a clogged Cat. Converter and what kind of issues will it bring?
Just wondering, thanks.

A shitty running car all around, bad gas milage..At night drive it for 20 30 min and and get down under the car and see if the cat is glowing red..That's definatly a sign of a plugged cat..Hollow it out and put it back on for a cheap straight through cat...Or cut it off and put in test pipe, and take the cat to junkyard for 20$..

Can that also Cause overheating because the exhaust isn't getting out fast enough?
I don't think my Cat is clogged bad but it needs to be replaced, I failed emissions because of High NOx.
Also, my car doesn't run very bad, I was just wondering because I overheated once and my Coolant was filled right.

Coolant temp sensor, thermostat..Of course your going to not pass emissions in your state..My buddy passed on a test pipe in his evo, and not on stock cat....Well he finally passed anyway..

Well I replaced the radiator cap a couple days ago because it had a torn and cracked seal.
Also I am sure my thermostat is opening because the Radiator hose gets very hot and there is a lot of pressure. So I was thinking it was just my cap...But also at the same time my Tachometer was going crazy. I didn't actually boil water over, my engine was just jerking every now and then...I went home bought a cap and drove it for 20 minutes and it didn't jerk, but the tachometer still goes crazy after 10 minutes 0_o

high NOX emissions is due to high cylinders temps thats what an egr is for it puts exhaust (inert) gasses back into your cylinders to take the place of some of the air thats normally there so the burn is less intense.

His profile isn't filled out either, So we don't know if he is running non egr...But I'm sure you won't pass, very easily where your at..Where is aurora, denver area? Not up Ft collins way right?
