This forum doesn't have a electrical section so I didn't know where else to put this thread.

Anyways, this is really weird. I jump into my car in order to head to work but the car didn't want to fire up. So I'm thinking that it might be a drained battery. As I turn the switch to turn the headlights on I hear some kind of a clicking noise (the headlights didn't come on). I open the hood and notice that the noise is coming from the headlight fuse on the fuse box. I pull the fuse and then then turn the headlight switch and there's no more noise. So I think that it's probably just a bad headlight fuse that's causing the problem but no, I replace the current headlight fuse with another fuse of the same kind but the clicking noise is still there:(

Anybody know what the problem is? I'd appritiate any help. The car won't even fire up because of this:(

nevermind. I just fixed my problem. I'm surprised how little battery corrosion can make a car not function right

It doesn't take much. I had a battle with corrosion recently and will share some tips that I found.

  • The corrosion will often times "walk" up a cable. Peel back the corroded wires and check to see how far the corrosion has traveled. Clean the cables accordingly. Replace cables if needed.
  • Carefully inspect and clean the cables leading to the starter, as any corrosion here could easily cause a no start.
  • Make sure that all nodes (on battery and starter) are clean with a shiny surface to best promote conductivity.
