Ive been having some problems with my charging system.
I put my key in the on position and I get a clicking noise from a 6 wire plug under my eci-multi (next to the throttle), so I disconnected the plug and now my battery wont drain, and my charging systems finally works. I dont know what to do now... I feel like driving it without the wires connected but thats probably not smart LOL.

Ive tried searching online but the only thing I get is people say they get a clicking sound with the horn not working, but i dont have that problem.

Id appreciate it if someone could help me out :thumb:

That's your ISC (idle speed control) motor. First of all though, are you sure you have a fully charged battery and a good charging system now?

A bad ISC can cause the ECU to be damaged in some instances, causing a loss of spark on two cylinders. If you want, you can continue to drive with it unplugged, but cold start and cold idle will suffer a bit.

My battery is sitting at 12.2 volts right now, and after I start my car up it rises beyond 13 volts so Im assuming my charing system is working.

So should I leave the ISC disconnected for today and see how my car performs?
Ive been having rough idles and surges under extreme acceleration, ive been reading on how to replace it, but since you mentioned something about cold starts/idles I might be able to get by for the summer time.

Okay, it sounds like your charging system is up to par.:)

Yeah, you might be able to leave it disconnected and see how it acts for you. You very well may be able to get away with it unplugged for the summer. If not, then it sounds like it's time for a new ISC. Good luck my friend.:thumb:
