Clearance Issue ????? RNR 3"

I have searched the forums and have been unable to find the answer to my question. I heard somewhere that if you purchase the RnR 3" O2 Elimator pipe for a 1g that everytime you want to change your oil you need to drop the pipe because the filter is so close is this true? Please let me know i'm trying to get my first 1g project car goin. I already have a EVO 3 setup including the manifold and turbo along with a 2g mas safc 550's, need to get my ecu chipped. Let me know what you guys think about the down pipe. I need to get my exhaust ordered as soon as possible. Thanks for all your responses they are very much apperciated@! DSMr' for life!!! also wondering a good place to get my ECU chipped for my mods.

I had a three inch o2 elimator/downpipe on my 91 awd, and you can get the filter off its just tight.

i had the same problem on my 93, but recently there has surfaced a pretty easy fix
the new evo VIII oil filters are slightly shorter than the ones from earlier 4g63's. you can get them at the dealer, or just get your prefered aftermarket brand autozone, just match it with the evo viii when you are looking up the part #. works perfect, and it will keep you from cooking the oil in your oil filter or burning the filter itself.

i use the stp 3000gt vr4 oil filter, really small, tons of clearance, i searched and found alot of people using them with big downpipes and little clearance. and i also use one of those filter mags on it too, since my dad is a dealer. people may think they are useless, but we cut open one on his v8 dodge dakota, and found quite a bit.

You can also use Impreza's oil filter.

I doubt you need a chip for what you have. If you have a EPROM ECU then dsmchips.com will do a chip. Do ypou have fuel control?
PS: www.kteller.com sells a 3" exhaust quite cheap. Mark
