cleaned intercooler now smoke

I cleaned my intercooler with rubbing alchahol and i let it dry now there is white smoke coming out of my exhuast when after i get into boost on out, what could this be,.

K I checked my spark plugs and they were fine, Im waiting now for my car to cool down so I can check the turbo, With the headgasket wouldnt I notice the car overheating, stuff like that?

Just checked the turbo for oil and shaftplay, There was minimal oil on the turbo when i took the intake off, and i noticed no shaft play at all when i felt it. Now what does this leave, Im gonna go buy a compression tester and do that again but what else could it be, I hear of water in the gas blows out white smoke would it be this?

I rechecked the turbo for shaft play and it has a little bit of movement side to side,its just a tiny bit. nothing drastic could it still be ####ed.

Also could massive ammounts of boost creep cause the turbo seals to blow, I was creeping to 22psi

yes it could because that a past max effeciency for the stck turbo. i kno a guy that did that and had a little amount of shaftplay and smoked like a bi***. take off your upper intake pipe and see if its oily. if it was a headgasket it would run like shit. if it was bad rings, the plugs would have oil on them. since you have neither of those problems, its probably the turbo. also..do u have the valve cover breather line still hooked up to you intake? if so, it blows some oil back into the intake and that could be your problem. ill be checking this post periodically so if u find anything out, reply.

I have the evo turbo not stock, I had a problem with blow buy so I did the 3 dollar catch can on that line that goes from the valve cover to the intake. Shaft play is there but very minimal. I notice no real problem with the cars driving or anything.

well if u have a problem with blow by than that is your problem. oil is getting into the combustion chamber and burning, causing the smoke. im not really understanding your situation now that all of these factors came into play. ur turbo should be ok, u said the car ran ok so the head gasket is not bad. id suggets doing a compresstion test. go to sears and buy a compression tester, its about 25 bucks. pull out all ur spark plugs after the car has warmed up to temp. and check the compression by screwing in the line to the spark plug threads. have someone crank the motor over with the throttle wide open until u get a steady reading. if u got bad rings then u will have bad compression. factory service limit is 116 psi. if below that then u need to re-ring. i like to consider 130 and up good. also, make sure all cylinders are about the same. get back to me after u mess with it.

K thanks. Well now that i think of it i have been gettin the smoke since I have done the catchcan should i take it off and see if i still get the problem.

try it. see how full the can is. another possibility is your valve seals. they might be bad. these would cause oil to leak into the combustion chamber also. you will know if those are bad by doing a compression test tho. thats what i would do before trouble shooting anymore.
