Clanking Noise from front passenger wheel

i have a loud, clanking noise coming from my front passenger tire, or at least that direction/area. it shakes the car as well. it only happens when taking off in 1st from a dead stop, or downshifting into 2nd. if i downshift into 1st and am still rolling when i take off, it doesnt make the noise. i thought it might be the axle, and the driver's side needed replaced anyways, so i bought both and took it to a well known local shop. they said the passenger axle was fine. they told me they think it might be a motor mount. would a bad motor mount do this? i dont want to buy the mounts, just to find out it wasnt the answer. any input is greatly appreciated as it is the most annoying thing ever.

I had a similar sound and it turned out to be my inner tie rod, fairly easy to replace, did it in a half hour

i actually just had that replaced and its still doing it.

Check your brake pads, mine did the same thing and the shims were loose and needed some brake lube.

Anywhere that sells Prothane. Part number 13-501 is the 2G tranny mount.
