Does anyone know where I get a set of stock rims chrome plated or dipped?

It's not a "dipping" process. It's cleaning, polishing, and then three plating procedures (nickle, copper, and finally chrome, with polishing between each step). Which is why it costs so much.DubV said:Does anyone know where I get a set of stock rims chrome plated or dipped?
They may have left out the part about it being electroplating.DubV said:The nickel, copper, and chrome are applied by dipping the rim into a vat containing each element.

"They are wired to copper hangers, dipped into two vats of cleaner/degreasers, and then rinsed off before going for a dip in a copper-plating vat. The copper allows the plating metals to stick to the underlying metals. The next vat contains a nickel bath, and the parts will sit for a while to build up thickness. Then the parts go for a swim in a water wash before a dip in the chrome vat. The water wash prevents the nickel from contaminating the chrome bath. After drying, the newly chromed parts are polished to a bright finish."

This is besides the point. I was just asking where I could get my rims done.
